A place for one life, or a shared remembrance
A single upright centers the design on one person. A companion monument can give two people their own inscription areas while bringing the design together with a shared family name, border, or message. For a family monument, we consider how today’s lettering and any future additions will work together.
The shape matters as much as the inscription. A traditional curved top, a straight top, a shaped silhouette, or a sculpted element each creates a different balance. We review the whole composition, including the base and any vases.
Choose the stone and the way it is engraved
Explore granite colors such as Bahama Blue, Blue Pearl, gray, and black alongside the lettering you want. Natural grain is part of the stone’s character, so we encourage you to review physical samples before making a final selection.
Two-dimensional line artwork is used for sandblasting across our granite color choices. Detailed artwork shown on black backgrounds is for laser etching on black granite. Our designers will help you choose a treatment that works with your stone and the story you want to tell.
Plan the complete memorial
Bring the cemetery name, any requirements you have, and a photograph or sketch if you already have a direction in mind. We review the dimensions, foundation, placement, lettering, and quotation before final approval. Lawrence Memorials guides the project from design through installation.
Lawrence Memorials serves all cemeteries throughout Central Alabama from Selma. You can work with our designers whether you chose our funeral home or another provider.
